303) The Boss’s Urgent Proposal by Susan Meier Donna Noble was head
over heels in love with her breathtaking boss, Kerr Avon… but he had no
idea. And four years of loving the eye-catching executive from afar had
taught her that it was time to move on. But when Avon learned that his
ace secretary was leaving town, he demanded she stay… under his roof! Now
with the blonde beauty at arm’s length, Avon suddenly realized that he
wanted her for more than her excellent organizational skills… but a
commitment was out of the question. Would Avon ever put his doubts of
love aside and allow Donna’s steamy kisses to touch him hardened heart?
I do like it when people get their own actual professions. No comment on Avon/Donna as a ship.
I’ve started learning how to restyle dolls, and I’ve been practicing on these $3 plastic dolls they sell at the random stuff store in the mall.

This is Melanie when I met her. Doesn’t she have a sweet face? Unfortunately, her hair only grows in a ring round her head and a couple of lines, so she has to either wear a ponytail or have a weird combover. Also her dress is made of tulle glued to her body. Not a comfortable fashion choice. And she has a keyring embedded in her head. No idea what the intended use case there was.
ALT
She had a Sinead O’Connor phase. (It turned out I could more effectively have just pulled out the unwanted hair, but I didn’t know that yet.)
I made her sweater out of my old sock.

I followed a tutorial to make a wig cap for her by stiffening a piece of old sock with Elmer’s glue. I then made the wig by unraveling some super chunky yarn to make soft, natural-looking wefts and layering them. The only difficulty is that her original hair formed a widow’s peak, so I had to bring the new hair quite far down on her forehead to cover it, so her fringe is always in her eyes. Maybe she’s a bit emo.

Melanie was able to reassure her new sister Annabelle that she had overcome the same issues (combover + glued-on dress).

I don’t have progress pictures for Annabelle. But it worked!
Annabelle’s clothes use patterns from Chellywood. Melanie’s were designed by me. (She probably deserves some Chellywood clothes too though! Maybe soon.)
I’ve read Anthony Ainley’s biography a few months ago, and there’s this quote from it that never leaves my mind when I think about Mark of the Rani:
there is just... so much to unpack here.
his resentment at not being the star of the ep is understandable, and there’s another fragment on the next page that talks about Colin Baker regretting he didn’t have a pure Master story with AInley.
but still, “being kicked in the groin as a metaphor for being cut down to size by JNT irl” is definitely not the conspiracy (ish?) theory I expected to find when I opened his biography...
